Cairncastle Church

Old Presbyterian Church, Cairncastle

This Non-subscribing Presbyterian Church was consecrated in December 1989. It stands on the site of a former church built in the seventeenth century.

A vertical stone, south west declining dial bearing the inscription " BY  ANDSNODY  1779". It tells the time from 5 a.m. to 4 p.m. in hours marked by Roman numerals. The hours are further subdivided into 30 min divisions.
